What I am advocating for
My priorities are simple and represent a common-sense approach. Our purpose is to educate, empower, and advance all CCPS students. They need to be prepared for the real world, where change is the norm and success requires dedication and hard work.
Building a safe school environment for students and staff is also a top priority. You can’t teach or learn when your safety is at risk.
We must enforce the Code of Conduct. After taking some bold steps, including the no hoods and no cell phone policies, we have seen dramatic improvement.
I’ll also continue to advocate for an SRO and/or a safety advocate in every building, including the elementary level.
What I will do to ensure taxpayer money is appropriately spent
We face budget challenges ranging from teacher retention, overcrowded classrooms, and staffing shortages to transportation costs and equipment needs. The key is more transparency and knowing where to prioritize spending.
I am committed to cutting out waste and inefficiency across CCPS and putting the community’s money where it can have the biggest impact. The budget needs to prioritize the needs of our students and staff.
