About Lisa Grenis

Lisa Grenis and her husband, Matthew Grenis, have resided in Calvert County for almost 30 years.

In addition to her teaching experience, she was a parent volunteer and had two children who graduated from Calvert County Public Schools

Her daughter, Rachel Grenis, is a certified flight instructor (CFI) for Hometown Flying Club in Buckeye, Arizona. Her son, Eric Grenis, is an officer with the Lexington, South Carolina, sheriff’s department.

Lisa was elected to serve on the Calvert County Board of Education in 2022. Her goals are to
make sure every student excels in the basics and is on a path to pursue their interests in college, technical training, or military service.

She supports full transparency across our school system. Lisa’s goals also include fiscal responsibility and representing a common-sense approach to education.

Grenis is fighting to ensure that our Strategic Plan is soundly founded in academic achievement. She is fighting to strengthen our Code of Conduct and will be vigilant to ensure the Code of Conduct is enforced.

During her tenure, Lisa Grenis has

  • served as a grade-level team leader
  • President of the Southern Maryland Reading Council
  • organized academic after-school programs for students and parents
  • presented at local and state teacher conferences
  • nominated for Teacher of The Year by Huntingtown Elementary staff
  • co-authored an article for the Literacy Issues and Practices journal.
